Mary Arden's Farm (3)

"Honeysuckles, ripen'd by the sun".

The Arden farmhouse. Built, according to dendochronology, around 1514, this is the house where Shakespeare's mother's family lived.  Presumably because the Palmer house was long thought to be the Ardens', this smaller house was not kept in its original state, and has lost some of its timber framing and gained some Victorian brickwork, but such is life.

For more information about Mary Arden's Farm, visit the farm's website, or the article at Wikipedia.  The farmers blog at Mary Arden's Farm (though, alas, they apparently haven't posted anything for two years as of this writing).
